A Hands-On Cabin allows kids to see what life was like here in the mid-19th century, when Minnesota was still considered part of the American frontier.

Historic Chateau Theatre
Built in 1927, the Chateau was one of the most elaborate theatres built in Rochester in the early 1900s. The exterior sunburst design marquee is lit with 636 light bulbs. Its unique French Village decor includes interior balconies and turrets and, on the ceiling, stars in the night sky. Refurbished in 1994, this elegant old theatre now houses a Barnes and Noble Bookstore and Starbucks Cafe.

Situated on 100 acres high on a hill northwest of the city, home to the Sisters of St. Franics. Visitors are welcomed to an ornate lobby with slate floor, Italian marble collumns, and hand-blown stained glass windows from Germany. Guided tours are available Monday and Saturday at 2pm by appointment.
